Job Description Summary

The Director of the extended campus serves as the chief administrative officer and is charged with implementing programs and policies for the purpose of meeting the overall goals and objectives of the University. The Director reports to the assigned Associate Vice President

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Knowledge of modern principles, methods, and techniques of higher education administration and program planning.
• Ability to express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form
• Ability in the area of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations and the general public.
• Strong persuasive and presentation skills required.

Essential Duties

• Directs and coordinates programs, projects, and activities of the extended campus.
• Plans, coordinates, and conducts student recruitment and public relations programs to enhance public awareness of the University and to increase student enrollment.
• Interviews, hires, and orients new faculty of University policy and processes.
• Obtains maximum utilization of staff by clearly defining duties, establishing performance reviews, and recommending competitive salary structure.
• Maintains effective relationships with other organizations, both public and private, and sees that the position of the University is enhanced in accordance with the policies and objectives of the University.
• Develops, recommends, and operates within an annual budget. Ensures that all funds, physical assets, and other property of the University are appropriately safeguarded and administered.
• Ensures that supervisor is kept fully informed on the conditions and operation of the extended campuses.
• Provides guidance to students regarding services, programs, policies, procedures, and other university related issues.
• Interviews, hires, and orients new faculty of University policy and processes.
• The director is responsible for working with community organizations as necessary to plan, evaluate, and recommend policies, procedures, and action to achieve University goals.
• Prepares and submits reports as necessary to carry out functions of the extended campus including those required to stay in state and federal compliance.
