Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Performs a variety of specialized duties: Correspondence, planning, organizing, scheduling and record keeping for the Department. Assists in on-campus and off-campus events to include recruitment, auditions, lecture demonstrations, showings, choreographic projects, concerts, alumni outreach, meetings, workshops, summer intensives and special events. Monitors and acts upon incoming emails, phone calls and correspondence of general inquiries addressed to the Department of Dance. Primary interface with appropriate administrative offices, predominantly the Office of the Dean, Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts. Communicates with external Dance organizations. Serves as liaison between Webster University and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Organizing skills.
Knowledge of current office practice and procedure.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to employ good judgment in solving problems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, students, external organizations and general public.
Working knowledge of appropriate software: word processing, database and spreadsheet.
Knowledge of basic financial record keeping.
Working knowledge of social media formats.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Experience working in a University setting.
Experience and facility in website editing, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Word, and accounting software.
Experience in the field of Performing Arts.

Physical Demands

Within the range of a normal office environment.

Essential Duties
