Job Description Summary

General Statement of Duties: Incumbent prepares annual marketing and recruitment plans and carries out various student and corporate recruitment activities in support of student admissions to the University. Advises prospective and current students regarding the University’s programs, policies, procedures and services. Selects and participates in recruitment events to promote the University’s degree programs. Performs various duties that assist students in the development of academic programs and schedules. Reports to the Dean, Extended Education and/or his or her designee.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required
• Advanced relationship building skills, both internally within the University and externally.
• Requires advanced knowledge of University’s programs, policies, and procedures
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office products.
• Experience using desktop publishing software.
• Marketing or sales experience in an educational setting helpful.
• Requires extensive local travel; a reliable personal automobile is necessary.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of student guidance and counseling.
• Knowledge of university academic policies, standards and admissions procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the university community.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced marketing and/or sales skills preferred

Physical Demands

Within the range of a normal office environment. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Frequent local travel is required.

Essential Duties

Exercising significant discretion and independent judgment, the incumbent performs the following duties and responsibilities:

• Advises prospective and current students regarding the University’s programs, policies, procedures and services.
• Assists new and returning undergraduate and graduate students from all areas of study with the various phases of the enrollment and registration process.
• Articulates university academic policies and procedures to students.
• Provides academic advising to students whose major is both declared and undeclared.
• Provides academic orientation to new students.
• Plans and implements student recruitment strategies, programs and related activities; manages and conducts recruitment efforts for an assigned geographic area.
• Develops relationships with corporations, community organizations and professional organizations in order to increase the University’s visibility within the community and recruit new students.
• Evaluates professional goals of prospective students and advises them with regard to selecting a curriculum and degree program which satisfies these goals.
• Determines Webster University involvement in educational fairs and participates in selected events.
• Works with community colleges and other schools to increase UG enrollments at the STL extended campuses
• Sets own schedule for attending community events and calling on corporate and individual prospects.
• Plans and coordinates campus and alumni-related events.
• Prepares and coordinates media relations with the Dean and the Director of Recruitment to include newsletters, advertisements, press releases and internet accession.
• Develops marketing and recruitment materials to supplement materials provided by main campus.
• General understanding of all facets of extended campus is required: administrative functions, academic functions, and marketing functions.
• Some evenings and weekends required
• Other duties as may be assigned.
