Job Description Summary

The Recruitment Coordinator focuses on driving enrollments at individual Webster University locations by employing effective local outreach efforts that both build awareness of and enrollment in Webster University. The Recruitment Coordinator reports directly to the Campus Director and/or Regional Director. They can work collaboratively with others units or individuals such as fellow Recruitment Coordinator’s, Global Marketing and Communications, and Alumni and Development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven student recruiting skills.
• Advanced relationship building skills, with prospective students and current students, within the University and externally.
• Knowledge of University’s programs, policies, and procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office products.
• Experience using social media networks.
• Experience using desktop publishing software.
• Requires extensive local travel; a reliable personal automobile is necessary.
• Background check may be required to visit military installations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred

Physical Demands

Due to the recruiting activities, it will be expected that the employee can lift and move around materials to the event locations. Usually the weight is variable, but a minimum of 20 pounds is expected. Travel is required.

Essential Duties

Recruitment:
Recruitment includes identifying and enrolling prospective students and retaining those students upon their enrollment with the University. All activities are done in consultation with the Campus Director and/or Regional Director.
• Develop an annual campus student recruitment plan to meet campus location goals.
• Track inquiries and prospects, including regular and personal follow-up, to maximize conversion rate from prospect to applicant. Use and maintain the University’s automated prospect system as part of this effort.
• Represent the University and local campus at community, professional and campus events. These include, but are not limited to, campus recruitment open houses, college and career fairs, and seminars.
• Develop partnerships with corporate and nonprofit organizations as a way to secure student cohorts and professional relationships. Strengthen existing partnerships, in part, by informing partners on a regular basis the University’s status, community commitments, new degree programs, and professional services. Regular visits to the organizations are expected.
• Submit weekly reports of inquiry lead generation activity, business and organizational contact, referrals, presentations and planning calendar to the Campus Director and/or Regional Director.

Campus Location Marketing and Advertising:
• Assist the campus director and/or regional director in preparing an annual plan for local market recruitment and community outreach.
• Assist in the development and ongoing effective use of non-paid social media by the local campus. Maintain local social media venues.
• Utilize tracking and measurement tools to monitor plan activity and results.
• Monitor brand compliance and manage the University’s local campus application of brand standards.

Public Relations Responsibilities:
• Assist the campus director and/or regional director in planning, coordinating and implementing public relations activities to promote local campus events, personnel, and a positive image of the University and local campus.
• Work in collaboration with Webster University Public Relations for potential media stories.
• Respond to media inquiries and identify expert sources among Webster faculty and staff for media contact – also working with GMC.
• Maintain online events calendar.
• Keep campus location website up-to-date, working with Content Management System.
• Make presentations on behalf of the University and local campus to a variety of small, large and diverse groups.
• Submit information to internal publications like ShopTalk and Webster Today, when necessary – supplying copy and photos of local events/activities.
