Job Description Summary

Responsibilities for this position include coordinating and disseminating to internal and external audiences information regarding Intercollegiate Athletics and meeting strict reporting deadlines to comply with the NCAA. Effectively use sports related computer applications and program that service and support the Athletic Department. This position will compile and track team and student athlete statistics, maintain department website, write and distribute press releases, contact local and regional media outlets regarding intercollegiate athletic stories of interest and assist with departmental publications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

1-2 years experience in sports information

Experience working with SIDEARM Sports, StatCrew and Microsoft Office

Current and valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree

3-4 years experience working in a college sports information office

Experience working with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop

Physical Demands

Job requires some travel.

Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Essential Duties

Full-time, 12 month position within the department of intercollegiate athletics.

Submit statistics/nominations to meet strict deadlines for appropriate governing bodies awards (ie. NCAA, SLIAC, CoSida)

Serve as the primary media contact for the University’s 16 intercollegiate athletics teams.

Responsible for home game management of all varsity sports as it relates to sports information, including statistics inputting and video streaming.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel, etc), Photoshop and other related software programs as well as Sports Related Software.

Prepare and coordinate news releases and information regarding student-athletes, coaches, team records, etc. to various internal and external media in an accurate, efficient and timely manner

Oversee the Webster University Athletics website, and social media outlets

Train and supervise student workers during home competitions.

Assist with design of departmental publications
