Webster University, a private, nonprofit university with its home campus in St. Louis, Missouri, seeks an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative leader to serve as director at the Memphis NSA, Tennessee Extended Campus and deliver high quality degree programs at its growing and developing location.

Founded in 1915, Webster University is the only Tier 1, private, nonprofit university with campus locations around the world. Webster University has a history of service in Tennessee, first opening a military campus in 1974. See for information on Webster University.

The Director serves as the principal contact for Webster University in building strong academic programs to support constituencies within the community including the Memphis local business, military and government organizations.

The Director also serves as the chief administrative officer of the campus and primarily responsible for enrollment success. The Director will oversee student recruitment, advising, financial aid, marketing, and budgets. He/she works with faculty and academic schools/colleges and departments to ensure high quality academic outcomes. The Director is responsible for maintaining excellent communication and working relationships internally with the home campus in St. Louis, including the offices of alumni and development, global marketing and communications, and student services. The Director also develops and maintains relationships external to Webster University with Tennessee regulatory offices, the Veterans Administration, and local organizations and governmental agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Knowledge of modern principles, methods, and techniques of higher education administration and program planning.
• Ability to express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form
• Ability in the area of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations and the general public.
• Strong persuasive and presentation skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree

• Required to travel for public relations and recruitment activities.

Essential Duties

• Directs and coordinates programs, projects, and activities of the extended campus.
• Plans, coordinates, and conducts student recruitment and public relations programs to enhance public awareness of the University and to increase student enrollment.
• Interviews, hires, and orients new faculty of University policy and processes.
• Obtains maximum utilization of staff by clearly defining duties, establishing performance reviews, and recommending competitive salary structure.
• Maintains effective relationships with other organizations, both public and private, and sees that the position of the University is enhanced in accordance with the policies and objectives of the University.
• Develops, recommends, and operates within an annual budget. Ensures that all funds, physical assets, and other property of the University are appropriately safeguarded and administered.
• Ensures that supervisor is kept fully informed on the conditions and operation of the extended campuses.
• Provides guidance to students regarding services, programs, policies, procedures, and other university related issues.
• Interviews, hires, and orients new faculty of University policy and processes.
• The director is responsible for working with community organizations as necessary to plan, evaluate, recommends policies, procedures, and action to achieve University goals.
• Prepares and submits reports as necessary to carry out functions of the extended campus including those required to stay in state and federal compliance.
